In order to balance out all the negative influences in today’s world, it is crucial that children be exposed to Christian principles in order to develop grounded values. Strong, biblically based teaching, parental involvement, and opportunities to build friendships with others that share their Christian faith are the basis for all of our children’s programs.
Playgroup: Is finished meeting for the summer but may meet periodically through the school year. To be included on the email list for events contact: Heather Reid at hkreid@hotmail.com.
HeirBorn Kids: September through June–Meets each Sunday from9:15-10 in the Concordia Library. This year, the HeirBorn Kids are learning about a Christian Kids’ Character. In this study during the first week we introduce a new attribute and have hands on activities to see how God can help us show His character in our lives. The second week features a Christian Hero and his/her country of influence as we see that character trait through their lives. We also take time to learn about the culture and pray for the people of that country. See the HeirBorn blog for details.
All children ages 3 years-6th grade meet in a large group to begin and then break out into small groups depending for more age appropriate activities which reinforce the bottom line and key verse. Parents are encouraged to continue the lessons at home with the Heirborn Herald–a family devotional guide which comes through email.
AWANA: September through April: Meets at Believer’s Bible Church on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm. Children ages 3 years to 6th grade are welcome to participate. More information here: http://www.bbcomaha.org/pages.asp?pageid=88489
Kids Christmas Musical: Organizing for this will start in late September and our practices will be after church (11:15ish) in the library. Kids of all ages are welcome (even older than 6th grade). There will be several songs and actions to learn and some speaking parts along with sets and props to craft. The musical is set for Sunday, Dec. 18th during our morning service at 10.
