Kids face a lot of negative influences in the world. It is crucial that children internalize Christian principles in order to develop godly character. Strong, biblically based teaching, parental involvement, and opportunities to build friendships with others that share their Christian faith are the basis for all of our children’s programs.
HeirBorn Kids gets its name from Romans 8:17: “Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ.” HeirBorn Kids is for kids through grade 5, and currently includes three units:
  • HeirBorn Quest is a study of the Christian life using biblical images: A Christian is a child / an athlete / a soldier / a steward / a servant / an ambassador / part of the body
  • HeirBorn Heritage surveys God’s great plan of redemption from creation to the cross.
  • HeirBorn Character examines 16 Christian virtues and combines them with people who exemplified those traits in Church history.
Camp Connect:  Eagle Heights kids are involved in a Wednesday night club from September through April.  The club is a cooperative effort with Harvey Oaks Baptist Church and we call it Camp Connect.  Our camp “cabins” use a variety of age-appropriate learning activities and families may choose to have kids work independently through the AWANA books with leader support.  Meet us at Harvey Oaks Baptist, 14515 Harvey Oaks Ave.  Supper is served at 6pm, Camp runs from 6:30 to 8:00pm.
Summer Opportunities:  Summer Playgroup Is finished meeting for the summer but may meet periodically through the school year. To be included on the email list for events contact: Heather Reid at Vacation Bible School is usually planned for late June. We also have many families that sponsor Child Evangelism Fellowship’s 5 Day Clubs. See the church calendar for further details or check back closer to summer.

Middle school aged young people follow the same outline, but in a more conversationally based class of their own. Teacher: Kyle Kinney

High School aged young people will be engaged this Fall in an inductive Bible Study led by Philip Friesen. The goal of this class is to gain confidence that anyone can study the Scriptures and profit from it! We are proud of our young people’s integration into the regular life of the church and the mission of the church. Beginning at around age 12, many of our young people are trained by Christian Youth in Action for summer work in Back Yard Bible Clubs.

Pastor Mike will begin a new adult class on August 27 designed to equip you for new realities in American culture: “Not in Kansas Anymore.” Let’s be followers of Christ who:
  • have hope and exhibit courage
  • have humility and exhibit compassion
  • have wisdom and exhibit action
Morning Blend:   Rodger Kunkle leads a round table discussion each week on a topic du jour. This is a great place to drop in if you are reluctant to settle into a class but still want to engage. Or, just take advantage of coffee and a table for fellowship or one-on-one discipleship.
