History

Having recently celebrated our 125th anniversary, Eagle Heights Church has a rich tradition of ministry in the Omaha area. Established in 1880 by Scandinavian immigrants as the First Swedish Baptist Church, our story takes many twists and turns through several locations, name changes, staff members and programs. One thing has never changed however. “The church has always committed to getting out the Gospel in the best way to meet the needs of the times” (Rev. Charles E Wallin, Pastor 1930).

No question that our Scandinavian predecessors would have a hard time recognizing Eagle Heights today, but it is through their vision and the faith and efforts of those that followed that is the heritage of our church.

Affiliation

Eagle Heights Church believes that local churches can best promote the cause of Jesus Christ by cooperating with one another in a denominational organization. Therefore, Eagle Heights has chosen to be affiliated with the Converge Worldwide (Formerly known as the Heartland Baptist District of the Baptist General Conference).
